The designated relative of the deceased must read and indicate acceptance of this agreement by signing below.

Cost:

  1. The family of the deceased will be required to pay all funeral costs prior to burial. This includes the following charges:
    1. A onetime maintenance fee of $2000.00.
    2. Grave preparation and Material costs of $520.00.
    3. Grass Marker cost of $680.00.
  2. Payment made payable to “AICC.”
  3. The above is not inclusive of funeral home expenses, which are the responsibility of the family. We do recommend consultation with AICC as we may be able to recommend cost-effective funerary providers.

Janaza (Funeral) & Internment (Burial)

  1. The time agreed upon regarding the start of the Janaza/burial must be adhered to. Those assisting in the burial, including contracted diggers, have a strict time to keep. Any overage in cost due to delay from the family must be then paid by the family.
  2. All people (Men and Women) attending the funeral or the masjid should be dressed modestly and in accordance with Islamic principles.
  3. In general, Islamically it is preferred for only men to follow the Janaza for burial. However, given the disposition provided many scholars, supported by the hadith of Umm ‘Atiyyah who said: “We were forbidden to follow the Janazah, but it was not made absolute on us.”(Sahih al-Bukhari, 1278; Sahih Muslim, 938), it is not something we will strictly enforce. In that case, sisters must be dressed appropriately (as already defined above) and proper Islamic separation must be adhered to. They should also stay back of those performing the burial to maintain proper Islamic separation of genders.
  4. During the burial, for safety, there will only be 2-3 immediate family members in the grave, assisted by specific, trained volunteers. Also, for the safety of all involved and to prevent grave collapse, there should not be a large crowd around the immediate vicinity of the grave – volunteers will be tasked with maintaining this safety and should be listened to at all times, without argument or strife.
  5. When placing the dirt on the fresh grave, do so gently and in small quantities, so as not to collapse any covering of the body. After placing three (3) handfuls of dirt, move out of the way to make room for the next.
  6. The burial method MUST occur in line with the cemetery guidelines.
  7. An AICC representative shall be tasked to be in charge. Please listen and follow the instructions of this person and of the designated volunteers.

Grave

  1. Will be maintained by AICC
  2. The grass marker will be ordered by AICC. Family should not order their own headstone or grass marker. The marker will be simple and uniform, listing the deceased’s name, date of birth, and date of death.
  3. No mausoleum-type structure, or other permanent or built-up structures, shall be built over or around the grave.
  4. Any flowers/decorations left behind will generally be cleared at time of next mowing / maintenance.

All questions concerning regarding this policy shall be directed to the AICC Representative
