AiCC Cemetery Rules and Regulations

  • Please respect the sanctity of the cemetery by keeping voices at a controlled level.
  • Please do not walk on the graves.
  • There is no Islamic religious value / merit of placing flowers on the grave, not from the Prophet(s) nor from the generations that followed. The narration regarding the green leaf pieces placed by the Prophet (s) has many nuances not applicable to placing flowers on the grave. As such:
    1. We would advise not to place flowers at the grave. It will be much better to spend that money in charitable donation on behalf of your loved one – providing them a tangible benefit, InShaAllah.
    2. Any flowers that are left will generally be cleared away at time of interval cleaning.
  • DO NOT LEAVE ANY PLASTIC FLOWERS, VASES OF ANY KIND, glass bottles, or any synthetic items. These create pollution and trash, sometimes into neighboring properties, and is a form of littering!
  • Do not demarcate or build up the graves in any manner. If this is done, know that at some point we will remove to keep the uniformity of the cemetery.
  • As this is an Islamic cemetery, we ask our non-muslim visitors to please not leave iconography of other religions. This would include, but is not limited to, candles with images of Jesus (peace be upon him), candles with images of Christian saints, crosses, etc. As Muslims, we adhere strictly to the biblical 1st and 2nd commandments: “You shall have no other gods before Me” and “You shall make no idols.” We appreciate your understanding in this.
  • Do not plant bushes or trees.
